Staycold International, based in the Free State, will be exhibiting four different technology advancements at FRIGAIR 2025. This is Africa’s largest heating, energy, refrigeration, ventilation and air conditioning exhibition, held every three years and the second time Staycold is attending.
Here the HERVAC sector displays their development in energy efficiency and sustainable technologies and is taking place at Gallagher Convention Centre from 4th to 6th June 2025. Staycold are inviting clients and delegates to witness their recent manufacturing advancements that help optimize performance while reducing environmental impact.
Staycold’s hydrocarbon freezer technology will be on display with a new single door full height freezer. This is an extension to their range, utilising hydrocarbon R290 gas, a natural refrigerant with a low Global Warming Potential (GWP) index. All Staycold’s new coolers are manufactured with R290 gas and are expanding its use into their freezer range following recent compressor developments by their supplier, that meet the performance requirements of their units.
Staycold are inviting clients and delegates to witness their recent manufacturing advancements that help optimize performance while reducing environmental impact.
There will also be a live demonstration of the energy saving benefits of their hydrocarbon coolers with live power readings of the two units, one equipped with a Hydrocarbon refrigerant system and the other with a HFC-based systems. Both these coolers (SD1140-HC-CE and SD1140-CE) will be on display side by side, with real-time readings from their time at the show, with the aim of quantifying the energy savings over that period.
Staycold’s telemetry system will also be showcased, with technology partner Digital Twin Pty Ltd and the CoolIt technology. Delegates will be able to see how companies can remotely monitor, locate, and control thousands of their units in real-time anywhere in the world via the cloud. Features like Tower/Wi-Fi location tracking, geofencing, and automated alerts will be discussed to demonstrate how businesses can optimize performance, cut energy costs, and increase productivity with the help of the system. This solution enables cost reduction through proactive and data based preventative maintenance, reduced reactive call outs, remote optimisation, and anomaly detection via internationally roaming 4G connectivity.
The stand will also incorporate the Fast Lane Cooler, which has been further developed since the last FRIGAIR show in 2022 where it was launched. This model has been a great success for Staycold and has become a common sight in many high traffic retail locations across South Africa.
Lena le Roux, Staycold’s Managing Director will be at FRIGAIR to meet delegates, and commented: “We are looking forward to showcasing the future of refrigeration and our forward thinking technology with industry professionals. We will also be sharing our ESG journey progress, factory expansion progress; with phase one due to be completed by FRIGAIR, along with providing guidance on the regulatory environment surrounding our products through our work and collaboration with entities such as SGS, SABS, the NRCS and IEC. Please reach out to us for information on how to register to attend and we look forward to seeing you there.”
